The Mercer Museum & Fonthill Castle and the ActorsNET of Bucks County present a special modern adaptation of Shakespeare’s “Macbeth”.
A brave Scottish general named Macbeth receives a prophecy from a trio of witches that one day he will become King of Scotland. Fueled by ambition and spurred to action by his equally ambitious and exceedingly devious wife, Macbeth murders King Duncan and fulfills his prophesied fate as a tyrannical ruler, but as he continues to commit further and more devious atrocities to maintain his power, he is consumed by guilt and plagued by paranoia, and his reign ultimately unravels as he faces rebellion, psychological torment, and his own, inevitable and bloody demise.
This special production by the most famous playwright in the English language is staged in the spectacular outdoor setting of Fonthill Castle.
For lawn seating, you provide your own blanket/lawn chair.
