Join the Friends of the Bucks County Historical Society and speaker Melissa Lee for a special program titled “Mercers at the Mansion” at the Mercer Museum.

“Mercers at the Mansion” will present an overview of the Mercer family and the current Aldie Mansion constructed by William and Martha Mercer, the brother and sister-in-law of Henry Mercer, in 1927.

The presentation will explore Aldie Mansion’s architectural significance and provide insight into William Mercer’s life and art. The examination of the lesser-known Aldie Mansion will shed light on Mercers’ family life and how they influenced and shaped the history of Doylestown and Bucks County.

Melissa Lee is the Volunteer Coordinator at Heritage Conservancy and works closely with Historic Programming for the organization. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology and Archaeology with a minor in History from Millersville University. Melissa is passionate about preserving and sharing History. In addition to working at Aldie Mansion, she also spent time as a tour guide at Henry Mercer’s home, Fonthill Castle, and is excited to share the history of the Mercer family.
